An Esoteric Look at our Solar System

Even in man’s earliest days he had a vast understanding of the stars and planets. In some areas they knew more than we do today. They knew that the stars were living things capable of influencing people and nations. They knew of the zodiac and how the sun moved through the houses in the sky. They knew that the planets were a part of the great macro cosmos, which they believed had a relationship to man’s micro cosmos. Astrology was so important to man that those who could read the stars were highly respected priests and scholars.

Back then with their limited technology, ancient astrologers still knew there were 7 planets (not including earth). With Neptune and Uranus still undiscovered, they were subsituted with the luminaries, the sun and the moon.

In this diagram, the symbol of the solar system, this is the result.

This diagram is made up of several smaller symbols. First is the Star of David, the two intersecting triangles, representing equilibrium between masculine and feminine forces. Next there is a circle and a dot. Lastly there are 6 planetary symbols inside of the Star of David. These planets are placed in the order the ancients believed to be closet to furthest from the earth.

• Bottom left – Mercury
• Bottom right – Venus
• Top left – Mars
• Top right – Jupiter
• Top – Saturn

The center of this diagram represents both the Earth and the sun, as the Earth was the center of the solar system and the Sun, symbolized by the circle and the dot, was considered the giver of life. Whose rays not only touched the earth but the only planets as well.

This diagram also represents the flow of energy in the solar system. Energy flows from Saturn, to Jupiter, to Mars, to the Sun, to Venus, to Mecury, then the Moon, and finally down to Earth. Then from Earth the energy is returned to the heavens in reverse order.
