What is a Chakra?
In Hinduism there is a belief system that humans are more than just our physical bodies and that we posses a body made of energy as well. In fact this body of energy, our aura or auratic body, is considered our primary body and our physical body is merely just the physical representation of our aura. These two bodies combine and coexist, one in a mental plane, the other in the physical to create each person with a body and soul.
In our auratic body there are multitudes of channels and nodes that transfer energy along our body, similar to the blood in our veins and major organs. These nodes called Chakra, meaning wheel, take this energy and give it to their physical counterparts. In Hinduism, having a chakra that is “stopped”, “blocked”, or “unbalanced”, will manifest itself into physical sickness in the corresponding physical part of the body.
Why do Chakras matter?
I think most of can agree that one of the steps for being happy and healthy, is to take care of your physical body. Protecting yourself from germs, exercising, eating healthy, etc, but what about our mental health? How do we take care of our minds?
We all know the feeling of being in a good mood. That feeling of optimism, that “something good is going to happen” feeling. Your body is full of “energy” and you’re excited to take the day on.
This energy that excites you, that feeling of optimism are the products of positive vibrations producing the same type of energy that is used and produced by our auratic bodies.
When your auratic body is not producing this energy, your physical body begins to lack the necessary energy needed to function and your mood, or mental mind-state, turns for the worst.
The mind is the link between our physical bodies and our auratic bodies. When our chakras are spinning properly, energy is flowing from our auratic bodies to our physical bodies and our mood is elevated. Being in a good mood, staying optimistic, and not feeling depressed has been shown to be enough to help people stay healthy and become healthy. In the case of placebo studies where patients “think” they are being treated when they are only given sugar pills, and doctors and nurses keeping patients in good spirits, being mentally well could be considered more important than being physically well. As with a good enough mind-state, your body CAN and WILL eventually heal itself.
What are the Chakras?
In our auratic bodies there are many chakras, some experts have said thousands, but most can agree there are several Major Chakras, usually 7. These seven major chakras are located along the spine from the base of the spine to the the top of the head. Although chakra means wheel, these chakras are also symbolized as lotus flowers, each with their own colors, seed mantra (sanskrit meditation word), and amount of petals. Each chakra also symbolizes a concept rather than just one specific meaning, I will be using key words to try to identify that concept.

These seven Major chakra centers along the spine form a system comparable to motors powered by spiritual energy. An imbalance in one Chakra will weaken the output of the others, and the system works best when all chakra centers are in tandem.
How do I balance a Chakra ?
Functioning properly, a chakra (wheel) spins perfectly balanced. Taking in energy and delivering it to its respective locations like a pump pumping water. When this wheel imbalanced, the amount of energy being output is potentially limited or blocked completely causing negative effects towards our bodies and our mentalities. As the mind is the link between our auratic and physical bodies, to balance a chakra takes mental work accompanied with some physical work.
The most effective way to balance your chakra is to meditate about it. There are many forms of meditation. Some will be more effective than others, as everybody is different, but the thing to remember is that they ALL WORK. You don’t “have to” sit in a lotus position, use the seed mantras, or clear your mind of all thoughts. What you do need to do is believe and have faith that your method is working.
For example, if I were to balance my Solar Chakra I would ask myself, “Am I feeling Energized”, “Am I feeling Healthy”, etc. Be HONEST and OPEN with yourself and really dig deep to find any underlying issues, and then let those issues go. These could be from our own insecurities, our fears, or maybe from an interaction with someone or something that harmed us in a way. The important part is to forgive both yourself and/or the offending party, then come up with a way to fix it. Make a goal and stick to it. Goals can be anything you feel will be helpful such as eating healthier, creating something, singing a song, etc.
How do I energize a Chakra?
Just like a pump, chakras have different speeds and outputs. Your chakra could be balanced yet could be turning slow, or maybe everything is going great and you want a little bit more of a kick in a specific chakra. Focusing your mind on a chakra and its keywords can help you “feel” that chakra a bit more. This doesnt have to be done during meditation, just a simple acknowledgement of the chakra during your daily activities is sufficient. If you want to be creative, tell yourself to be creative, if you want to be intuitive, tell yourself to trust your instincts. Being mentally aware of your chakras helps you further tap into their energy.
The Chakra Energizing Tee
These shirts are designed to help remind you about your chakras throughout your day. Each one with its respective color, symbol, and keywords to help steer your mind and turn your wheel. You dont need one to energize your chakras, but having the colors and symbol on your body does produce a vibratory energy that does help in both balancing and energizing chakras.
Personally, I like to pick one chakra for the day, set one goal in respect to that chakra for the day, and try to fulfill that goal throughout the day. Additionally I like having the chakra front and center, for other spiritually in-tune people to see and connect with. In a way, me wearing the shirt, reminds them of their own chakras, spreading a message and good vibes.
