In 2016 I bought a pair of LED light gloves just to practice with a friend that was really into gloving and going to raves. I thought it was fun, seeing the different colors move around fluidly, practicing and seeing results when I gloved for people. I would practice at home and my brothers would jokingly say “These are what you use to feel the vibrations”. For some reason that really stuck with me. Feeling the vibes, making them with my hands, speaking and creating vibrations with my mouth with words, it’s like everything suddenly clicked. The puzzle pieces finally came together, I had come to the conclusion that
Everything Vibrates.
I’ve always considered myself a Christian, in fact I still do. I’ve always been taught that God is in all things. Well if God is in all things, and all things vibrate, does that make God a type of vibration? Learning about what vibrations are and energy led me to the chakra system, zodiac signs, the natural elements the more I researched the more everything began to connect together. All of these things followed the same principles, that there is a spiritual energy in this world that we tap into unknowingly, and that the world is covered in symbolism. Also that the truths of the world are hidden behind this symbolism, and to truly understand it you have to seek the answers.
Reflecting and researching it some more, I had an idea that if you created clothes with good positive vibrations then everytime you wore those clothes youd be effectively putting on a shield of positive energy to protect you. Ive never been an artist but I didnt want to let the quality of the artwork stop me. I simply wanted to create clothes and enjoy the process.
So I started to paint. Using fabric paint I painted various symbols and images onto jackets and during the process, I decided that I should create a brand and that I needed a brand name. Since I was infusing clothes with positive vibrations, I wanted the brand name to reflect this spiritual fifth dimension. At first it was simply FIFTH, “Fifth dimension” was a little too common and I liked the way FIFTH sounded on its own. My brothers then asked me why FIFTH, and I jokingly said that I was “Finding Information From Things Hidden” and another light bulb, eureka moment happened.
The spiritual fifth dimension and “Finding Information From Things Hidden” became, F.I.F.T.H. Dimension, a double entendre that combined my current beliefs and my passion for symbolism.
Now, I truly feel like I’ve stumbled upon my calling, to make positive clothes for others using symbols and revealing the hidden truths of the world. Spreading good vibes and a message. Yet, I cannot paint fast enough to make enough clothes to distribute nor do I have the time. So I’ve taken my passion to the computer, digitally creating clothes with the same passion I have while painting. Now anyone who wants to join the movement can have their own F.I.F.T.H. shirt.
